Now we know

that this team STILL has road/mental issues. We played pretty stupid, right from the outset. When has Ray ever taken 18 shots? When have Jawad and David combined to attempt 11 threes?

Yeah, the refs were pretty bad, but we didn't play good enough to win anyways. However, unlike many people, I saw this coming. Well, I feared it was coming. Like all of you, I had begun to hope that this team had changed, grown up, gotten tougher (and good enough defensively to beat a top team on the road). Well, we haven't. Which isn't the end of the world. Look, we lost to a very good team playing at home in the ACC. That happens. A phenomenally great team would have found a way to win, but we are still sick dangerous. We just aren't the clear cut class of the ACC.

We showed decent fight -- better than in years past. Wake did a good job of keeping their lead comfortable. If we could have ever got it to 4-5, I think the whole game would have changed (not necessarily in our favor, but just in terms of the pace and type of play). I really would have liked to see what would have happened if Rashad had played more than 2 minutes to start the 2nd half. We'd cut it to five and he was obviously feeling it when he picked up his fourth. And Wake is the No. 3 team in the country. And they shot 32-32 from the charity stripe. And Ray got no calls. And we had some weird plays where we couldn't rebound or hold on to the ball that cost us. And Sean was invisible. And Downey and Ellis? Really, Downey and Ellis?

so, yes I'm pretty mad and upset and really disappointed. I don't think it's a good sign that all those things happened in arguably our biggest game of the year. It may be a good sign that all those things had to happen in order for us to lose. Let's just hope this was Wake being good, and we prove we are a different, better, more mentally-tough team by actually DOMINATING AT Clemson. We should. But the same can be said for the last two years. Will we?
